Travel Update

We found out today that our daughter's TB results came back negative. So we got the green light to book tickets and make arrangements. We're leaving this weekend. Nana, Jalen's grandma from St.Louis, is coming down to care for him while we're gone.
Still some things are pending .... but it's starting to feel more real by the day!!!

1. NVC has to confirm that they have received the latest I-171H. I sent them an email inquiring about that today.
2. Check with Susan Parr Travel to make sure bank increased daily debit limit so that they can charge us for the remaining amount still pending that didn't go through today.
3. Get oil change on car - we have to drive to ATL to get on the plane to DC and then from there to Addis Ababa - we're flying Ethiopian airlines. This late in the game we literally did not have a choice but to take whatever's available for whatever price.
4. There are other details I need to take care of but don't want to bore you with them :) ....

Also, I put in for leave today, and my Commander had me get a FP/AT (Force Protection/Anti-Terrorism) classified brief from the Intel folks on base. Very interesting ... lots of things I didn't know ... I don't know what's better: to be ignorant of what's going on around you so you won't be so worried, or to know everything terrorism wise going on and fear for your well-being while in the area. I still choose the second and am glad I have been briefed .... but it's scary ... to say the least! We'll just have to stay vigilant and have excellent situational awareness!
